U.S. Journey (Summer 2002) - An 8,000-mile motorcycle trip literally around the continental United States, reaching all four corners of the country in only 31 days. This marathonic journey, starting in New York City and ending in Miami, was nothing short of a challenging experience. Muñoz dealt twice with a broken down motorcycle in vast South Dakota and scorching Arizona, a sand storm in Wyoming, a tropical depression (Fay) in Louisiana and much more. Moreover, due to time constrains, he was forced to ride 1000 miles from Sheridan, Wyoming, to Seattle, Washington, all in one single day (This is equivalent to riding from Washington D.C. to Orlando). Furthermore, some of the cities and places visited worth mentioning are Syracuse (NY), Niagara Falls (Ontario), Detroit (MI), Mount Rushmore (SD), The Black Hills (SD), Sturgis (SD), Seattle (WA), The Redwood Forest (CA), Yosemite (CA), San Francisco (CA), Los Angeles (CA), and Houston (TX). A new trip to Alaska, possibly riding all the way to Mexico and perhaps Central America is on the works. Nevertheless, the U.S. Journey will remain as one of the most exciting and intese trips thus far, full of amazing experiences and memories.
